Our sister site
PocketGamer.biz has just published the latest research from its quarterly Quality Index, which tracks review scores of mobile games on a range of sites (including this one).
It concludes that the best mobile game of 2008 was Fishlabs's
Rally Master Pro (pictured), with a stonking average review score of 9.43 out of 10.
Other top titles included
Playman Summer Games 3 (8.97),
Snowboard Hero (8.83),
Townsmen 5 (8.83) and
Tetris Pop (8.77). The Top 20 games can be perused
here.
At the lower end of the chart, it was bad news for movie fans, with the bottom five games all based on films.
Hands-On Mobile's
Iron Man was the stinker of the bunch with an average rating of just 4.13, but
Rambo Forever,
The Incredible Hulk,
Wanted and
The Chronicles of Narnia all got critical brickbats too. Read more on these
here.
Gameloft was named the best mobile games publisher for 2008 as a whole, with an average rating of 7.95 for its games.
EA Mobile came second with 7.68, followed by RealArcade (7.63), Digital Chocolate (7.60) and I-play (7.52). The full publisher list can be found
