Oldschool RuneScape's Fresh Start Worlds campaign is now live
Back in August, Jagex announced that its new Fresh Star Worlds program would launch on both RuneScape Mobile and Old School RuneScape. The feature already landed on RuneScape Mobile a few weeks ago and now Old School RuneScape players can enjoy it as well.
The entire idea behind Fresh Start Worlds was to level the playing field. A game that has been around for over two decades is naturally going to have a lot of players who have attained mastery in it and know everything about RuneScape. But the craze of mobile gaming has brought a lot of players back into the iconic MMORPG.
Now whether you're a competitive veteran going after World Firsts records or brand new players looking to get into RuneScape for the first time, everyone begins anew. Fresh Start Worlds ensures that this massive community of like-minded folks is on the same page and everyone moves forward together.
Speaking about the new event, Mark Killey executive producer for Old School RuneScape, said: “We’re so excited to launch Old School RuneScape’s Fresh Start Worlds. Following Fresh Start Worlds for RuneScape, it’s great we can launch a similar, but more specialised, experience for our Old School players. We want to really capture the magic starting a journey in a brand new world where there is everything to play for and the potential for limitless adventures.”
Old School RuneScape does maintain a certain level of challenge in the Fresh Start Worlds campaign. though. Unlike its counterpart, no XP boost will be provided so players will have to work their way through to progress through the game. For newbies, this will be like logging onto the original RuneScape for the first time all those years ago.
For the veterans, this will be like a competition for who becomes the Worlds First in various categories such as hitting level 99 on a skill. The entire experience will be six months long, following which, this new character will be transported into the original world.
