Imagine waking up on a mysterious desert island after your plane crashed, and realising you have to marshal your fellow passengers, figure out a way to survive and escape strange beasties in the woods, AND then do it again for at least five more series to ensure lucrative syndication royalties in the future? Grim.

That's the theory behind TV show Lost, anyhow. Gameloft scooped the rights to produce an official mobile game last year, and it's almost here. You play grizzled hero Jack (well, everyone looks grizzled after a few days on a desert island...) who has to survive while cracking the many secrets of the island.

Glu Mobile stole a bit of this game's thunder with its splendid if very-much unofficial game Stranded. However, in Gameloft's favour is that official licence, which means you get Jack and other characters from the show like Kate, Hurley, Locke, and Sayid, as well as a storyline written by the team behind the series.

It also sees several key moments from the TV show included, like the crash scene itself, the smoke monster, and hooking up with the spooky Others.

Lost is out any day now and we'll have a full review to see if it lives up to the TV show, so click 'Track It!' to get the message.
