The lovely Lara Croft will be slipping into Christmas stockings once again with the imminent release of Tomb Raider Legend on mobile.

However, the heroine will be eschewing the traditional red and white this December, preferring to wear the exclusive orange of, um, Orange upon whose handsets the game is exclusive until 2007.

Aimed at high-spec 3D capable handsets only, the game promises to emulate the gameplay and cinematic action of the already-released console title, with Lara jumping, climbing, rolling and shooting her way around international settings. Let's just hope it's inspired more by the PSP version than the DS one, eh?

Still, we remain as intrigued by the prospect now as we were back in July. Although possibly not as excited as Simon Protheroe, new media and IT director at Eidos, who we imagine was grappling with his keypad when he commented, "The mobile phone is the biggest selling games platform in the UK, with people regularly enjoying action and strategy games for entertainment. Now that handsets offer such improved performance, we are able to provide a more immersive gaming experience for the mobile generation."

Suffice to say we'll be grappling with Lara ourselves in the very near future in order to shoot the definitive review your way. Click 'Track It!' to have it fired direct to your inbox.
