It's been a good week for mobile giant Infospace. First it
scored an award at the Edinburgh International Entertainment Festival for
Dirty Sanchez, and now it has won the rights to create and distribute Eidos mobile games in Europe.
The good news for us is that we can expect to see a lot more characters from the Lara Croft stable on our phones.
The first raft of titles to be distributed includes
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Puzzle Paradox,
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legends,
Hitman: New York,
Hitman: Las Vegas,
Championship Manager and
Thief: Deadly Shadows: Episodes 1 & 2.
Both parties seem overjoyed at the deal, with Infospace's John Chasey no doubt thinking of Lara in her skin-tight shorts when he said, "This latest deal cements our position as an international partner with Eidos Interactive and reinforces our position as a leader in mobile gaming."
Whilst many of these titles will be familiar to
Pocket Gamer readers (click the links if not for the latest news on each, and stay tuned for any release date changes), we'd expect to see a new raft of games announced, as Infospace seizes upon the opportunity to raid Eidos's vast games catalogue for inspiration.
The likes of console classics such as
Deus Ex, Commandos, Time Splitters and upcoming
Reservoir Dogs getting skillfully reworked for mobile is almost as exciting as the though of Lara in those shorts. Almost. (
