THQ Wireless digs up the Indiana Jones franchise for mobile

When Rocky Balboa was announced, we turned our noses up. When we heard that John Maclean was set to have another very bad day in Live Free or Die Hard, our excitement levels barely registered above the 'maybe I'll rent it one rainy afternoon' mark. When we heard that the world's gloomiest actor, Harrison Ford, was about to once again don a grubby khaki shirt and go adventuring off into the wilds, however, we nearly fainted.

Save for, say, Star Wars, there are few licences that command the enduring affection that the Indiana Jones films do, which is why it's great to hear that THQ Wireless has renewed and expanded its global licensing agreement with Lucasfilm to develop an array of new mobile games, including a new Indiana Jones title.

All that's known so far is that the game will release alongside the new film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and will based on the events of the movie. Considering the current trend for mobile games doing a decent job with cinematic licences (which is more than can be said for living room consoles' efforts) we have high hopes that Indy's first mobile outing will live up to our expectations.
