EA has announced that it's buying Hands-On Mobile Korea, the studio responsible for Heroes Lore (pictured) and World Poker Tour: Texas Hold'em 2, amongst other titles.

The studio will change name to EA Mobile Korea, and will play a big part in EA's mobile games expansion into Asia, taking on more developers and publishing staff.

The studio has a good reputation for the quality of its games, and for the huge success of the two Heroes Lore titles in Korea.

However, the news is sure to cause speculation about what Hands-On is up to in mobile games, having sold off one of its key development studios.

It's not necessarily a sign that Hands-On is getting out of games, though. It may simply be getting out of Korea, or shifting its games development to other internal teams or external developers.
