It looks as though another Ghostbusters film is pretty unlikely these days, so we're excited about the imminent launch of Vivendi's gaming continuation of the franchise.

The mobile version (a DS Ghostbusters was previously announced) appears to feature some excellent caricatured likenesses of the Ghostbusters team, and promises some accessible, one-thumb gameplay with all the humour and action you'd expect from the supernatural investigators.

The screenshots pictured show off a host of slimers and free-floating, full-torso vaporous apparitions, so fans of the nigh-on 25-year-old movie classic should shuffle towards the edge of their seats in apprehension – we certainly are.

With over 50 levels spanning New York City and three different modes of play, the Ghostbusters mobile game looks set to be a significant contender in October's multi-platform release (aside from DS and home consoles, a possible PSP Ghostbusters iteration has also been suggested).

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
