Genshin Impact’s v2.4 Fleeting Colours in Flight update celebrates the New Year with a new region

Begin the New Year with an update for the massively popular RPG Genshin Impact. Next week, miHoYo is releasing the v2.4 Fleeting Colours in Flight update, featuring Liyue’s biggest annual festival and also a new region that had been submerged thousands of years ago.

2022’s first update will introduce Enkanomiya, the remains of an underwater nation under Inazuma. It is a huge floating island beneath the sea, constantly being eroded by the Abyss. It is believed that this hidden land is older than any relics found and that the ancestors of Watatsumi Island dwellers once lived there. There is no sun or moon below the sea, but the magnificent minds of Enkanomiya had created the Dainichi Mikoshi, an artificial sun. Players will learn to use this artifact to rediscover this mysterious island. Expect to find Bathysmal Vishaps in your way, who are cunning predators that hunt in packs. The Abyss will not be happy with your intrusion. Facing the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames will be challenging as its Pyro attack deals delayed burst damage regardless of shield.

To help in this battle, two more characters are being added with this update. The first is the five-star Shenhe, who deals Cryo damage. Her Elemental Skill boosts the Elemental Skill and Burst damage, or the Normal, Plunging, and Charged Attack damage of nearby party members. The second is an adept opera master and Geo Vision user called Yun Jin. She is a four-star hero who boosts teammates’ attacks based on her defence and visions. Using Event Wishes, players will also be allowed to recruit Xiao, Ganyu, and Zhongli.

As the New Year begins, the Lantern Rite festival returns to Liyue Harbor. Teyvat’s inhabitants will also be celebrating a new beginning with games, stalls, vendors, and innumerable festivities. Players can help rebuild the Jade Chamber and participate in other activities to earn rewards like 10 Intertwined Fates, a four-star Liyue characters, and Ningguang's new outfit Orchid's Evening Gown.
