Fortnite's latest update introduces characters and items from Attack on Titan to the battle royale

We’re just over a month into Fortnite’s Chapter 4: Season 2: Mega, and Epic Games has already launched a massive new update for the battle royale. Version 24.20 carries forward the wave of collaboration, with yet another hit anime series, Attack on Titan. We already knew this was coming since Eren Jaeger is part of this season’s battle pass, and now the rest of his squad is here too.

Fortnite’s latest update is bringing a tonne of content from Attack on Titan straight into the game. There are enough cosmetics to empty quite a few Vbucks wallets here. Say hello to the Special Operations Squad which has just landed on the Island, with Eren Jaeger’s page unlocking in the battle pass, and Captain Levi and Mikasa Ackermann showing up in the item shop.

With them, comes the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear and Thunder Spikes which can be found on the ground, in Chests, and Scout Regiment Footlockers (event-themed chests). The ODM allows players to grapple in the air and strike opponents below them using the in-built blades. After attacking players are propelled back into the air to hover away or perform another move.

Test the ODM out by knocking the Titan Targets scattered all over the island. Thunder Spears on the other hand have been made just to go boom. They are arm-launched rockets that are capable of going through armoured structures and then detonating so that enemies on either side receive damage.

The Anvil Square is also hiding a mystery POI. Somewhere in this region is Jaeger’s Family Basement, which will be full of secrets waiting to be unveiled. Keep your eyes out for it and the dirt bikes which have been unvaulted in this update. Don’t forget to check out the other cosmetics besides the character outfits either!

Download Fortnite now for free from the official website and start beating those Titans.
