Fortnite Chapter 4: Season 2: Mega goes live with new battle pass, POIs, weapons, and more
And just like that, Fortnite has already concluded the first season of Chapter 4. We kicked things off with ancient characters like The Ageless and Geralt of Rivia. Chapter 4: Season 2 on the other hand, leaps in time as we say hello to a futuristic version of the battle royale.
Welcome to Fortnite Chapter 4: Season 2: Mega. Similar to Season 9 of chapter 1 with neo-titled, this season takes players on a thrilling adventure through Mega City. There are loads of new vehicles, new weapons, augments, POIs, and of course, the much-awaited battle pass.
Battle Pass
Season 2’s battle pass comes with eight characters and a tonne of cosmetics for them, with Renzo the Destroyer unlocking right off the bat. As players progress through the pages, they will unlock others like Imani, Thunder, Mystica, Stray, Highwire, and Mizuki. Perhaps the most sought-after outfit will be Eren Jaeger, from the iconic series, Attack on Titan.Weapons
Besides a few weapons from the last season, Mega introduces three new guns. These include the Havoc Suppressed AR, Havoc Pump Shotgun, and the Overclocked Pulse Rifle which may drop in from a mysterious POI rifting in. The whole season has a Japanese and futuristic vibe to it and encapsulating that feeling is a new melee item, the Kinetic Blade. It is a katana with strong moves.
POIs
Looking at the cinematic trailer, it seems like POIs have just dropped from the sky to create the futuristic Mega City. It is filled with grind rails using which players can skate around the map while using weapons.The other place to look out for is less happening but more serene. Surrounding the city is Mega Mellow, a brand new biome in the southeast region of the island. It is filled with Sakura trees and is quite reminiscent of Lucky Landing from the OG version of the game.
Vehicles
To move around the new map, players will obviously need some cool rides. The new additions include the Victory Crown Rogue Bike and the four-seater Nitro Drifter Car. The Dirt Bike. Motorboat and a few mods have been vaulted.
Reality Augments
Seven augments have been introduced with this season. Here’s a look at what they do:- Dumpster Diving: Gain loot on leaving a hiding spot
- Treasure Hunter: Newby chests are marked
- Slap Surplus: Find Slap Juice in every chest
- Munitions Slide: Gain medium ammo when sliding
- Medium Ammo Amp: Medium ammo weapons have increased magazine size
- Shotgun Recycle: Shotgun ammo may not be consumed on shooting
- Dignified Finish: Eliminations with the Kinetic Blade’s Dash Attack refresh the cooldown
