Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds is ending service in a few months

Square Enix has just dropped a surprise announcement for the mobile RPG, Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai: A Hero’s Bond. The anime-inspired game that has been out for a little over a year will unfortunately be shutting down for good. This announcement came as a Twitter post with the title breathing its last on April 4th at 8:00 pm PDT.

Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai: A Hero’s Bond has not managed to survive two years as it is folding a few months prior to that anniversary. The developers issued an apology today stating that the decision was taken because they felt that they would not be able to provide a satisfying gaming experience in the future.

With this announcement, effective immediately, the sale of Red Gems, Item Packs, and the Gold Pass has ceased. None of these can be purchased anymore and by January 29th, the automatic Gold Pass Renewal will stop as well. But this means that subscriptions taking place in the next few days still may go through so it is important to manually disable it on your phones.

There are still four months left before the service ends and the developers still want to provide as much fresh content to players as possible. A stream of updates will constantly go live, granting players access to the final chapters of both the Dragon Tracks and the Bonding Journey.

A treasure hunt containing items from Exclusive and Season-Exclusive equipment will also go live. For more details on these events, players can check out the in-game notice – A Word from the Development Team about Updates until Service Ends' announcement. Any other information can be found on their official Twitter handle.
