No, we're not insulting him. Stephen Massart has won Vivendi Games Mobile's competition to get his face into the upcoming Crash of the Titans game as a boss called DIMBO.

The competition was run in partnership with O2 UK, with people entering by downloading Crash Bandicoot mini-games from O2's portal. Apparently downloads were boosted by the promotion, as gamers scrambled for their chance at mobile stardom.

"Working with O2 on this innovative activity was a great experience, and shows how the mobile game platform has evolved to the point where we can actively involve consumers into gameplay in the context of iconic video game brands," said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile.

The game – complete with Stephen's mug – is due out in October, and sees the titular bandicoot showing off a new skill, called Crash Jackin', where he can take control of enemies and use their attacks and special moves.

It'll be interesting to see if other publishers follow Vivendi's lead in this area. And if any are reading, we'd like to say to Glu and Konami now that it's not too late to put Pocket Gamer into Pro Evolution Soccer in our preferred midfield general role.
