The hit American TV show franchise CSI has proven to be as popular in the games market as it is on the telly if the excellent CSI mobile games are anything to go by, and Gameloft has just dropped us a line to let us know about an all-new crime scene investigation adventure for the mobile platform, CSI: NY.

Following the exploits of the New York branch, CSI: NY currently boasts around 14 million viewers in the US, so there's already a strong market base for a game centred around these same characters.

What's even more exciting is that the mobile game's plot has been written in collaboration with the TV show writers, which promises a logical and thorough investigative experience.

CSI: NY is even adopting an increasingly popular mobile gaming function by using your handset's camera to help you search out those elusive forensic clues.

The Miami and Las Vegas iterations of the mobile CSI game have both won themselves Pocket Gamer Silver Awards (although the iPhone one didn't fare quite so well) so there's good reason to get a wee bit excited over CSI: NY.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
