AFK Journey is an upcoming open-world RPG by Farlight Games currently in limited beta

Farlight Games, the minds behind the recently released Call of Dragons, have just announced their next project. Titled AFK Journey, the game is an open-world RPG that is set to release on mobile and PC. It takes place in the same universe as AFK Arena and combines RPG mechanics with idle gameplay to create a casual, yet thrilling gameplay experience.

AFK Journey is set in the fantasy world of Esperia, which brings back fan-favourite characters from AFK Arena to a new open-world setting. The game features a vibrant universe filled with a variety of unique terrains and landscapes. While on their journey, players will be required to solve puzzles, unearth treasures, and interact with several other adventurers.

If that didn’t sound immersive enough, then the dynamic weather and surroundings should do the trick. AFK Journey’s world will feel extremely alive thanks to the day and night cycles, which will allow players to witness visually stunning sunrises and sunsets. On top of that, there’s a full weather cycle to enjoy as well.

In terms of gameplay, players will engage in exhilarating battles with a wide variety of enemies. In order to win, players will have to take advantage of the terrain and traps around them. As they solve tricky puzzles, a myriad of valuable rewards will be unlocked. Then comes the idle progress system that makes things a tad bit simpler as levels and equipment can be earned by sending teammates on solo quests while away.
