Uh-oh. Mountain Sheep's creative director Timo Vihola has confirmed the first Minigore update has been rejected by Apple for technical reasons.

On the Minigore blog he says: "Episode 2 was very simply rejected for crashing at launch on one of Apple's test devices."

This was a Phone 3G running 3.0 OS.

It's bad news, both for gamers, who have been waiting on the flow of promised updates to fill out the enjoyable but sparse initial release, as well as Mountain Sheep, as Minigore is quickly slipping down the App Store charts.

On Sunday, it had dropped 55 places to #91 on the US App Store, according to our PocketGamer.biz App Store Analysis.

With no update due for a couple of weeks, it's going to be out the all important Top 100 soon.

At least this gives Mountain Sheep the opportunity to roll updates one and two together.

These will include new enemy characters such as normal and giant firefurry, a third health state, Furry Sense, two achievements (expert and insane mode), automatic save and restore of game state, minor gameplay and bug fixes, OpenFeint 2.1, and a faster firing rate on the shotgun.

The new update will be re-submitted to Apple on 9th September.
