Nowadays, MySpace or YouTube are probably the biggest threats to office productivity in the Western world. But in the days before the internetweb, it was Minesweeper that was captivating the attention of millions of office-workers.

The game itself was simple – find mines buried on a grid by analysing the numbers in squares around them. And JavArt is releasing an all-new version for mobile, called Minesweeper Deluxe.

It really is deluxe, too. For starters, the viewpoint is now isometric, rather than top-down. Meanwhile, the game is set in London, and the 'mines' are now World War II bombs, which you have to disable in your role as a policeman.

The game features new animations – the explosions look particularly cool – as well as a pass-the-handset multiplayer mode, and also a Bluetooth multiplayer mode offering turn-based and time-attack options. The game has five difficulty levels to keep the interest of solo players, too.

We think it could be a hit, so watch out for our review by clicking 'Track It!'.
