UPDATE: Since this story was published, it has come to light that Google is celebrating the fact that 10 billion Android apps have been downloaded on its Market by selling ten different premium apps for 10p each on every one of the following ten days. Several of the Android Market's highest-rated apps and games have mysteriously dropped in price to just 10p / 10c, meaning you can currently nab yourself some Pocket Gamer Award-winning titles for just a few pennies (or cents).

So, what's on offer?

Games-wise, there's the Silver Award-winning strategy title Great Little War Game, which we praised at review for its "3D visuals, infectious humour, and engaging gameplay".

If that's not really up your street, however, you can also download Gameloft's equally impressive racer Asphalt 6: Adrenaline HD, or snap up Mojang's extremely popular Bronze Award-grabbing Minecraft - Pocket Edition.

Ten a penny
