Midas targets budget PSP market with Stateshift and Generation of Chaos
Wipeout-style racer and arch Japanese strategy game thrown into the mix
Already known for canny £10 budget PlayStation 2 games such as G-Surfers, Robot Warlords and Masters of the Universe He-Man, UK publisher Midas Interactive has now switched into widescreen mode with forthcoming PSP releases Stateshift and Generation of Chaos.
Developed by Dutch studio Engine Software, Stateshift is a futuristic Wipeout/Rollcage clone, which sees you racing against 15 other drivers across nine themed-environments.
Both racing skill and weapons power-ups will determine your success, while each of the vehicles also possess four stateshifting abilities to further aid your progress. Gaming modes include Career, Challenge, and an adhoc multiplayer option.
Generation of Chaos, on the other hand, is a complex tile-based strategy game from Japanese developer Idea Factory, which places you in the position of running a country.
There are two gameplay options: a turn-based Kingdom Management mode, which enables you to improve your fortifications, set taxes, recruit officers, and deal with natural disasters such as earthquakes, and a real-time Battle Management mode, in which you set out your troop formations, and use your commander's skills and super attack moves to defeat the enemy.
You have to kill the opposing commander to win the battle and continue the expansion of your kingdom.
Priced at £20, Stateshift is due for release on July 20th. Generation of Chaos is due the same day, priced £30.
