Metal Slug and King of Fighters get the sequel treatment
Slugs, kings and large metal robots are waiting for the call to action on your mobile phone
Metal Slug Mobile Impact and King of Fighters M2 will be winging their way onto mobile phones later this year after I-Play confirmed that it had struck a deal with SNK, the company behind the coin-operated arcade originals. We at Pocket Gamer will certainly be looking forward to the new Metal Slug game as the first instalment was so much fun, yet so short – it only featured six levels!
Exact details surrounding the games haven’t been revealed yet but they continue the storylines begun in the first parts. Metal Slug Mobile Impact finds hero Marco deep inside enemy territory, searching for the Control Room and trying stop the enemy before they use the feared Super Rocket and destroy the world! Many others have tried before Marco, and failed. He must save these POWs and, aided by a variety of classic Metal Slug vehicles including a helicopter, a submarine and the famous tank, put an end to the evil regime.
The King of Fighters M2, sequel to the original The King of Fighters mobile title, offers all the thrills and frenzied speed of the arcade game. Featuring three modes - Story, Survival and Battle - the game brings a bucket of martial art fun to mobile phone gaming. Sub-games seamlessly combine with the martial arts action in a series of innovative special moves, allowing each character to perform a number of key actions in attack, defense and ‘desperation mode’.
