Hideo Kojima reveals top secret development pictures. Arigato!

PSP's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker was Metal Gear Solid 5

Ohayou gozimasu, reader-san.

We've been poking around Hideo Kojima's blog this morning, and saw an enticing bit of gaming history when the acclaimed designer revealed that the forthcoming PSP steal extravaganza Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker was originally intended as a direct continuation of the franchise, but has since dropped the "5" from its title.

This ties in with a Konami teaser site that appeared about a year ago, though no one could quite decide whether it was a number five or a letter "S". It seems Kojima-san has finally clarified the matter.

Not that it makes any particular difference to the game, which most believe to be a strong continuation of Snake's adventures anyway.

The game is slated for an April 29th release in Japan, followed by the US on May 25th and Europe on May 28th.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
