Madden NFL 09 announced for DS and PSP
Doesn't the china anniversary come around quick?
There aren't many game developers we instinctively feel sorry for - heck they get to make games for a living and get paid a lot more than journalists, but when it comes to the hamsters running around the wheel that is EA Sports' annual FIFA, Madden and Tiger Woods refresh... well, the heartstrings start to vibrate a little.
We certainly hope none of them have had to work on all 20 Madden games - the 09 version will be the 20th - although if they had, we'd be jealous of their bank balance: think of those bonuses, what with Madden being one of the most commercial game franchises ever.
Still when it comes to details of the new handheld games (as well DS and PSP, the game will also be released for PS3, PS2, Wii, X360 and mobile, although the latter's not been formally announced) there's not yet much to report. We just hope the versions are as good as last year's, with the DS scoring 7/10 and the PSP 8/10.
Of course, the only news anyone's really bothered about is who will be the cover star this year and will he managed to overcome the Madden Curse as successfully as last year's Vince Young?
Madden NFL 09 is due for release in North America on August 12th and we'd expect an August release date for Europe too.
