Leaked trailer may reveal rumoured Nokia Lumia 900
Is this Nokia's most powerful handset to-date?
A leaked promotional video featuring an unspecified new Nokia handset has appeared online. Many believe the handset to be the Lumia 900, Nokia’s as-yet unannounced top-spec addition to its Window Phone 7 range.
Rumours about the Nokia 900 – also referred to as the Nokia Ace – have been flying around conference halls for a few weeks now. Though Nokia has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the device, the head of Nokia France, Paul Amsellem, has made reference to a third, higher-spec addition to the Lumia family.
Speaking to French newspaper LesEchos, Amsellem said, “[The Lumia 800] is just the equivalent of the BMW 5 series. We will soon have a full range with a Series 7 and Series 3”.
Curtain callAssuming the ‘Series 3’ model Amsellem speaks of is the more affordable Lumia 710, there’s a chance the leaked video, which appeared on Nokia’s YouTube channel before being swiftly marked 'private', could be a developer promo for the Lumia 900, which is expected to succeed the Lumia 800 as the flagship of the Lumia family.
It’s worth noting that the handset in the video could turn out to be nothing more than a handsome render. Nokia has refused to comment further on speculation surrounding the video, or its future plans for the Lumia series.
