Optimised version of Angry Birds to rectify Lumia 610 incompatibility issue
|

Yesterday, we reported on the Lumia 610's inability to run some fairly popular apps, including messaging service Skype and a little-known Finnish title called Angry Birds.

The compatibility issue relates to the budget handset's modest RAM chip - a cost-saving 256MB compared to the 512MB nestled inside Nokia's Lumia 800 and 900.

Well, new Nokia Lumia 610 owners can suck in their bottom lips, for Nokia has announced an optimised version of Angry Birds designed to overcome the blower's RAM limitations.

Though Microsoft warned that 5 per cent of apps would likely be incompatible with Nokia's entry-level Lumia smartphone, many were surprised when high-profile releases like PES 2012 and Skype failed to boot up on the Lumia 610.

A release date for the optimised version of Angry Birds should be issued soon. There is currently no word on whether the Skype app will be given similar treatment, but we'd be surprised if Microsoft - the owner of the Skype service - wasn't looking into it.
