First vegetarian video game arrives for Game Boy Advance

Those who tire of the endless blood and guts carnage that's generally served up to the games-playing public might be delighted to know that a vegetarian option has now been made available.

LarryBoy and the Bad Apple is the first video game based upon the VeggieTales characters, and to our knowledge the first ever game that enables you to take the role of a crime-fighting cucumber.

Playing the part of the mean, green Larry (and his vitamin-packed superhero alter ego the plunger-headed, LarryBoy) your task is to save the citizens of Bumblyburg (Surely IceBerg? – Ed) from the nefarious Bad Apple.

You have an array of superhero gadgets including the Larry-Mobile and the intriguing 'suction ears' to aid you in your task, along with the help of your ever-faithful butler Archibald Asparagus.

Billed as providing a valuable lesson in fighting temptation, it remains to be seen whether the game will encourage us to eat our greens or leave them on the plate with a might "Yuck!" It's more BBQ weather right now…
