The iPhone might be the pinnacle of handheld technology, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be regressed to mimic the first ever type of handheld entertainment: the LED sports game.
LED Football recreated the classic, bleep-bloop, battery burning, cheap beige plastic styling of these handheld beauties perfectly – even to the extent of the screen printing wearing off the virtual buttons the more you play.
Well, developer TouchGrove has been in touch to introduce us to LED Football 2 – now with passing (and brighter LEDs).
The same retro chic has been retained by the game’s presentation, and TouchGrove is celebrating its launch with an awesome iPod touch giveaway. But this is no ordinary iPod touch. The chassis jockeys over at Console Choppers have put together a limited edition iPod touch with a gold bezel – pre-loaded with an ultra-special copy of LED Football 2 also pimped out with a gold effect casing!
This lucky winner will be one of only three people in the world to own a gold-effect copy of LED Football 2, and if it were possible to put this beauty on eBay we predict it’d set the listing on fire. It can’t, so it won’t, but you know what we mean.
