When you get old, you start to forget things. When it comes to Konami, it just seems to get forgetful when thinking about old things – well, that could be the reason it's managed to re-release a press release about its DS game, Konami Arcade Classics that actually contains less information than when it first announced the game last October (it was originally called Konami Classics Series: Arcade Hits).

Back then it revealed eight of the classics golden oldies would be Circus Charlie, Contra, Gradius, Roc'n Rope, Rush'N Attack, Time Pilot, Track and Field and Yie-Ar Kung Fu.

Now, however, although the total number of games has jumped from 12 to 15, only Gradius, Time Pilot and Yie-Ar Kung Fu are confirmed. We're pretty sure Circus Charlie fans need not be alarmed though. Konami's just playing with you.

The company does remain keen to stress the conversions will be pixel-perfect in comparison to the originals, with new extras including wireless multiplayer and the ability to share high scores and replays.

You'll also be able to select between various screen configurations – such as horizontal and vertical orientations – and experience over 100 musical tracks and sound effects. A biography of each game, rare artwork illustrations and trivia will also be provided to boost your nostalgia levels.

Prepared to keep you waiting, Konami Arcade Classics is due to be released this autumn.
