Earlier this week, Apple announced its plans for iPhone's launch in the UK (if you missed the news: it'll be £269 on O2 from November 9th. But not 3G). There's still no news on Apple's plans to sell native iPhone games through the iTunes Store, though.

Thankfully, some companies are stepping in to fill the gap, with web games optimised for the iPhone's Safari browser. The latest is US firm Knibble, which is launching its iPhone portal today.

Knibble iPhone is kicking off with eight games, including Bejeweled (although that's already got its own iPhone-friendly web version courtesy of original publisher PopCap Games). The other seven games on Knibble iPhone now are Pair-O-Mania, Collapsing Blocks, Discover, Master Mind, Box Clear, Tic Tac and Sudoko (sic).

They're free to play, with Knibble presumably making money from advertising (for example, one icon on the portal's homepage is reserved for an ad).

If you're lucky enough to already own an iPhone, check the site out by pointing your iPhone browser to http://iphone.knibble.com now.
