App Store legend Ethan Nicholas follows iShoot with Kim Rhode's Outdoor Shooting
iShoots, iScores?
In the beginning, there was a certain app called iShoot.
It was independent developer Ethan Nicholas's first title, and as a result of its success he became what our editor calls, "the poster child for disproportionate App Store success," with over 1 million dollars in sales to date.
Since then, Ethan Nicholas has rightly dedicated himself exclusively to iPhone developing, and his next target is the hunting simulator Kim Rhode's Outdoor Shooting.
If you didn't know, Kim Rhode is a four-time olympic hunting medalist, so you won't win any prizes for guessing the game's premise. The challenge is to hunt down anything from white-tailed deer to grizzly bears with an assortment of weapons, in first-person shooter style.
Quite comically, one of the weapons is a grenade launcher which is hardly the hunters choice, unless of course you like your animals cremated. Also in the mix is the usual array of weapons such as rifles, pistols and shotguns.
It's set to be released either late this year or early 2010.
