Indie developer Hothead Games has announced Kickin Momma, the first iOS title in the controversial (and completely fictitious) child-punting genre.

Demonstrating dubious - and highly unorthodox - parenting methods, Momma (a blue alien-esque creature) attempts to get her hands on a shiny new necklace by drop-kicking her kids through fields of jewels.

After leaving the matriarch's polished boot, the kids bounce around, ping off pegs made from fire, ice, and explosives, and collect as many gems as they possibly can.

You'll earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals based on your success rate, and unlock accessories such as kicking boots, crowns, and moustaches (eh?).

You partake in this madness across 36 levels and three different worlds, bagging Game Center achievements and leaderboard kudos along the way.

Kickin Momma will be available for iPhone from August 4th for £1.49 / $1.99 / €1.59, with an HD iPad version costing £2.49 / $3.99 / €2.99.

Take a quick look at what to expect in the announcement trailer below.

And remember: Don't try this at home, school, or anywhere.
