Telltale’s Jurassic Park adventure game gets first trailer, screenshots, release date

Dinosaurs! Rain! Funny accents! Telltale’s upcoming Jurassic Park adventure game has been shown off in its first trailer.

The developer, best known for light-hearted comedy point and clicks like Wallace and Gromit and Tales of Monkey Island, says this game will be darker, more realistic, and inspired by Quantic Dream’s PS3 adventure Heavy Rain.

This first trailer certainly shows off this new direction. The game looks more action-oriented, the characters actually resemble real human beings, and everything is a little scary and bathed in darkness.

Information on the new game is still thin on the ground. We do know that the story takes place during and directly after the first movie, but none of the film’s major characters - like Grant, Malcolm, or Sattler - will appear.

The screenshots (in the gallery above) show the main character squaring off against a T-Rex in the museum, the protagonist feeding a triceratops, and two dinos going head-to-head in a fight.

The trailer only mentions PC and Mac editions, but if Telltale’s previous adventures are anything to go by, we’ll see the game crop up on iPad eventually. The first episode will hit computers on April 22nd.

Telltale is also working on games based on the graphic novels The Walking Dead and Fables.
