Although our focus at Pocket Gamer tends to be on the UK and Europe, that doesn't mean we don't follow with interest the latest mobile game developments in the US.

One company we're particularly interested in is AirPlay Networks, and its technology that enables mobile gamers to play along with live TV events.

The company has just announced a deal with Sony Pictures Television to use its platform for a multiplayer game based on quiz-show Jeopardy!, for example.

Due out for the next series of the show, it'll come in mobile, BlackBerry and PDA versions, and will let players answer the same questions as the TV show contestants in real-time, and then see how their score compares to their friends.

It sounds genius. Imagine if someone did this for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire or The Weakest Link in the UK? Hopefully AirPlay will soon find some partners on this side of the Atlantic to do just that.
