Sudoku is the puzzle craze that just keeps on giving, if you're a mobile game publisher. At least, that's what Hands-On Mobile is hoping with its new Japanese Puzzles game.

It's actually a collection of three games: sudoku, kakuro and tenpenki. No, we haven't heard of that last one either.

It involves "using logic to create a picture in a grid as guided by numbers running across the top and down the side", according to Hands-On. It was invented in Japan in the 1980s, and has since become a staple of puzzle magazines apparently.

Anyway, there's also some technical innovations in Japanese Puzzles. The game includes a four-player Bluetooth competitive mode, and the ability to download new puzzles every day, and upload your best times to a global rankings system.

All this, plus tutorials, comprehensive stat-tracking, and a 'Voyage' mode that involves unlocking new content as you progress.
