Exact revenge on the granny-killing forest tomorrow in Jack Lumber on iOS
In-tree-guing
What do you get if you cross video game titan Sega with Snuggle Truck developer Owlchemy Labs, some murderous trees, and a vengeful woodchopper? Jack Lumber for iOS. Of course.
In this Sega / Owlchemy collaboration - out now on the New Zealand App Store - Jack's gran is killed in cold blood by a shifty-looking conifer, and so he has no choice but to go on a sap-thirsty tree-chopping rampage to avenge her death.
Jack Lumber is a line-drawing game in which you hack through tree trunks as they are launched into the air using Jack's time-freezing skills to slice through as many as possible. This one won't be *ahem* poplar with environmentalists, I fear.
Anyway, Jack's gran may have been felled by the (allegedly) barking-mad trees, but she's been kind enough to leave behind a stash of her time-warping potions to aid you in your rampage. Good on her.
RampageJack Lumber has its tongue lodged firmly in its cheek throughout, and sees Jack rampaging through varied environments such as Flapjack Forest, The Loggers Bog, and Widowmaker's Peak.
Jack's logging shed even becomes a shelter for homeless animals once you've turned their homes into sawdust.
Jack Lumber will be carving out its own niche when it arrives on the UK and US App Stores at midnight tonight, priced 69p / 99c.
