We've been chatting with the dudes over at Kiloo recently about the company's forthcoming brand, It's a Zoo. Details are still a little sketchy, as it's early days in the development studio, but we were most interested to hear it aims to encompass most handheld systems.

Currently at prototype stage is the DS version; a puzzle platformer which incorporates a unique stylus control system that "hasn't been seen on the DS". This will form the basis for a simplified iPhone version that'll remove much of the accuracy due to being finger controlled, rather than done with a pointed stick (try and read that last bit with a Welsh accent – Python fans will understand).

The mobile will be graced with an entire suite of It's a Zoo themed games, however, beginning with four titles and an intention to bring the number up to six as the games begin to emerge next year. These initial titles will be:

  • It's a Zoo Soccer – an untraditional soccer game where everything can happen. Even players who aren't fans of the soccer genre will have a blast playing
  • It's a Zoo Racers – a Micro Machines-styled racing game featuring five animal friends, each one with the own unique ability along with five locations to match the characters
  • It's a Zoo Breaker – a typical Breakout clone with an in depth storyline
  • It's a Zoo Escape – a Tetris type game turned upside down about a monkey trying to break out of the zoo

All in all, an eclectic variety of titles that could cement It's a Zoo as a very recognisable gaming brand, eh? Hit 'Track It!' now for more Zoo news as escapes into the wild.

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
