As reported here, Chair and Epic Games have announced that a new content update for Infinity Blade II will be arriving on the App Store this Thursday, which has been described as the "largest free content update to date" for the iconic slasher.

Much like the ClashMob update that landed earlier in the year, the focus in this incoming update, entitled Vault of Tears, is on social gameplay - only this time, you don't even need to have friends with the game to start earning rewards.

Those without the title can contribute to your in-game damage and help you earn extra turns by (Facebook) Liking and re-tweeting "battle calls", which sounds to us like a clever way of rewarding players for marketing the game to others.

Keep fighting

Additionally, there's a new Treasure Map feature, which sees you hunting down "your hidden ally" and claiming secret items as a reward.

On top of all that, there are new areas that "delve further into the mysterious past of Siris", as well as new enemies, items, achievements, and ClashMob updates to look out for.

Infinity Blade II managed to score a direct hit on release, earning itself a Pocket Gamer Silver Award and 400XP.

It's out now for iPhone and iPad as a Universal app, priced at £4.99 / $6.99. You can download it by hitting the button below.
