What's in a name? Well, when it comes to bands, actually quite a lot. Would The Beatles have been as famous as The Quarrymen? Radiohead as On A Friday? Or the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band as... well, you get the picture.

Even the Spice Girls were originally going to be called Touch, so maybe that's why Ubisoft has tweaked its one-time Imagine: Rock Star into the more tween-friendly Imagine Girl Band.

You're still doing the sort of things you'd expect of a casual DS game aimed at 6-14 year-old girls of course: playing instruments such as the drums, guitar, bass and keyboard, and customising the looks of your bandmates in terms of designing outfits and doing their hair and make-up. You can even take 'photos' to share with your friends.

As for the traditional 'game' part of the experience, if you're that way inclined, you can attempt to get your combo up the greasy pole of fame and fortune by playing four mini-games which will earn money and increase the popularity points of your band so you can land a record contract.

The mini-games also allow multiplayer with up to three friends.

Imagine Girl Band is due to be released on August 8th; just don't confuse it with Guitar Hero: On Tour.
