Publisher Deep Silver has announced it will be publishing the recently announced Igor DS game in Europe and released the first set of screenshots.

The game is based on the film of the same name coming out in North America in September. It follows the story of an evil scientist's hunchbacked lab assistant, Igor, who has dreams of becoming an evil scientist himself and winning first place at the annual Science Fair.

Unfortunately, instead of creating a dangerous monster to enter, he creates the amiable Eva and then has to persuade her to act like a monster.

The DS game won't only let players control Igor, but also to design their monster individually using various collected body parts – with hundreds of possibile combinations. They'll then be able to compete against other scientists' creatures using a puzzle combat system.

Igor the game is due for release on DS (as well as Wii and PC) this October.
