Igor gets a monster DS release
Game of the film coming in 2008
US publisher Legacy Interactive today announced it has struck a deal with Exodus Film Group allowing it to make a DS game based on the upcoming film Igor. As you'd expect, the game (which is also coming to Wii and PC) will feature characters from the movie.
"The incredibly rich world and characters the film offers are well suited to the action puzzler genre," said Ariella Lehrer, Legacy Interactive's CEO. "I think this is a game that will have crossover appeal among casual and more core strategy gamers alike."
Little else is known about the title, though. We do know the CG animated film is a comedy promising to offer a new twist on your average classic monster film. Igor, the starring character, is a talented evil scientist's hunch-backed lab assistant with dreams of winning the annual Evil Science Fair and becoming a mad scientist himself. Stars such as Steve Buscemi, John Cleese and Eddie Izzard are in the film, but we'll have to see if they lend their voice talents to the game, too.
Currently, Igor the game is down for a rather general 2008 release. The film is due out in October, though, so it's safe to bet it'll be emerging around then.
