Sports Day on iOS: Icebreaker slides onto iPhone as Backbreaker 2: Vengeance gets crunching HD update
Hold onto your helmets
It’s a busy day for the chaps at NaturalMotion, with two of its brand new releases emerging on the New Zealand App Store and heading to the UK and US later today.
First up is ice hockey title Icebreaker, which transposes American-footy title Backbreaker’s arcade-style dodge-and-score mechanics to the ice rink, as you spin and deke past opposing players before slapping that vulcanised rubber disk into the net.
With 50 waves broken up into ten lengthy challenges, an Endurance mode, and a whopping 42 different achievements, it sounds pretty pucking substantial to us.
Icebreaker is out now for iPhone and iPod touch on the NZ App Store, while US owners can grab it from 11pm EST, with a midnight launch for UK users. It’ll set you back £1.79 / $2.99 / €2.39.
TouchdownMeanwhile, Backbreaker 2: Vengeance HD has sprinted into the development end zone and is now available for selection on iPad.
The popular gridiron game contains the same range of features as the iPhone version, only those tackles now carry more weight in glorious HD.
It's available at the aforementioned times for the very reasonable price of £1.79 in the UK, or $2.99 for our Stateside brethren.
