SOUTH KOREA HomeRun Battle 3D (Com2uS)

VS
ROMANIA Magnetic Sports Soccer (Revo Solutions) A true sporting mash-up was in the offing in Group B's first match, with Com2Us's brilliant baseball title pitching in against the Revo Solution's developed toy soccer sim.

Both games looked good on paper (and in the app store come to that) with bright, colourful visuals, simple gameplay and immediately accessible controls, although the South Koreans definitely promised more strength in depth via its eminently customisable players and multiplayer modes.

But could this distinctly American sport overcome the nostalgic appeal of a child's toy based upon the greatest game of earth?

Kick Off: 12:30pm, 12th June The critical view: Both sides started brightly enough in the eyes of the pundits, with plenty of attacking flair on offer from games that encouraged fast, frantic action and high scoring, but after an even opening the South Korean's class began to tell. Half-way through the first period, HomeRun Battle 3D smashed its first shot in from left-field courtesy of its ultimately slicker presentation and attention to detail.

The Romanian's metallic net was bulging once again soon after as the sheer scale of the Korean's upgrade options and different modes imposed themselves on the midfield and fired in another homer. Indeed, as the minutes counted down, the Romanian goal was under constant pressure as shot after shot was batted towards their magnetic goalie assisted by lavish critical praise and awards.

Whilst Magnetic Sports Soccer did nothing especially wrong, HomeRun Battle 3D was simply in a different class early doors. In truth it may only have been the nature of the respective core sports that kept the score respectable.

Half time: South Korea 2 – 0 Romania The fans 45: After a torrid first 45, the Romanians desperately needed to get off to a good start after the break and so it proved with some frantic early voting from the terraces aiding Revo Solutions to rapidly notch one back, possibly assisted by a healthy slice of nostalgia and some neat multiplayer options.
However, hopes of a dramatic comeback began to steadily fade away along with the frequency of the voting as time ticked on and the public view perhaps reflected to a degree the limitations in long term credentials of either side as the match ultimately petered out.

This probably wouldn't worry the South Koreans though, who'd showed more than enough polish and passion in their first half to claim the victory and all three points. Full time: South Korea 2 – 1 Romania Latest Group Tables - Fixtures & Voting - Squads
