Fancy a spot of speed dating on your mobile?

Longtail Studios teams up with HurryDate for fun and possibly more

Fancy a spot of speed dating on your mobile?

You don't hear quite as much about speed dating nowadays in the media, probably because everyone's moved on to webcam dogging, or whatever the new romantic craze is.

Still, there are plenty of people out there still looking for love in three-minute bursts. If you're among them, and fancy a bit of practice, you might be interested in HurryDate's SpeedDaters, the latest game from AMA and Longtail Studios.

It involves customising your character and then playing through a story mode, several mini-games, or unlimited speed dates. The mini-games test your eye contact, body language and listening skills.

Sadly there's no mini-game to test your 'resist weeping while babbling on about your ex-girlfriend who you still love despite her running off with your best mate' skills. Which would be useful.

The game is based on the work of a company called HurryDate, which organises real-world speed dating events, so the name may change when the game comes out in the UK. It sounds fun though: we're polishing up our chat-up lines in readiness for a review.
