Back in February, Rodeo Games released turn-based shooter Hunters: Episode One, which managed to blast its way to a Pocket Gamer Bronze Award.

Now, its developer has informed us that it's bringing Hunters 2 to the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in "spring 2012", complete with a new graphics engine and "more guns and gear".

"We've learnt so much over the last year, listening to fans and critics of turn-based strategy alike," Rodeo Games co-founder Ben Murch said.

"The biggest feature players asked for was the inclusion of a single player story mode. Which is why the new game features a full campaign mode."

The game's campaign follows new hero class character Caius Black through several scripted missions, as he battles across fresh environments with new enemy races. There are also new mission types.

Down and dirty

To celebrate the announcement of Hunters 2, Rodeo Games has slashed the price of Hunters: Episode One [buy] and Hunters: Episode One HD [buy] to just 69p / 99c "for the whole weekend".

You can expect its sequel to hit Apple's App Store sometime in the spring of next year. We'll keep you updated.
