Intelligent Systems 3DS game Hiku-osu available to download October 5th in Japan
When push comes to shove
Intelligent Systems, the first-party Nintendo developer behind the Advance Wars and Fire Emblem series, will be releasing its first downloadable game for the 3DS next week.
It’s called Hiku-osu, and it’s about pushing and pulling blocks around.
At the game’s opening, a town has been mysteriously covered in the titular hiko-osu blocks. Playing as a community-minded fellow called Maro, it’s your job to move these blocks to form pathways through each level.
With more than 250 stages and a level-editor, Hiku-osu promises hours of block-manoeuvring fun.
What’s more, certain levels will have you pushing blocks into the shapes of various 8-bit Nintendo characters, just to tickle the nostalgia glands of Nintendo gamers everywhere.
Scheduled to land in the Japanese eShop on 5th October, priced at ¥700 (around £6/$9), there’s no word yet on a western release. Considering the pedigree of Intelligent Systems, we’ll all have our fingers crossed for an announcement soon.
