Big Fish adds match-three to iOS hidden objecting in Hidden Wonders of the Depths 2

Best known for its myriad of hidden object games, casual publisher Big Fish is now mixing up the gameplay with its first match-three for iPad and iPhone.

It's to be found in Hidden Wonders of the Depths 2, which is based on the Hidden Wonders of the Depths series previously released on PC.

Developed by ERS Game Studio, the match-three elements are part of a wider mini-game experience, which includes hidden object and tile-based magic card puzzles. There are five ways to play and over 250 levels in total.

Still, one twist applied to the match-three stuff is that you're not just abstractly gaining points. Instead you have to make symbols disappear in such as way as to open a path for your friendly crab to make his way to the treasure box. As you'd expect, the gameplay is hardly stretching with hints offered when you get stuck.

And, in keeping with Big Fish's general philosophy, Hidden Wonders of the Depths 2 is available for free in iPhone and iPad versions, with the complete game being unlocked via IAP, priced $4.99, €3.99 or £2.99.
