Pocket gamers get ready to go on The Big Journey

E3 2008: Uncover Hidden Objects on the DS

Although it'll be publishing in-house on its native shores, German based Cerasus Media is currently on the lookout for US and world publishers for its latest addition to the Hidden Objects series, The Big Journey.

Featuring over 150 levels in more than 40 locations, the game requires players to scrutinise each scene and uncover a list of objects squirreled about the place. Although it sounds quite austere, it's quite the casual game phenomenon on the PC and the DS replaces the beloved puzzle book format normally associated with this kind of game quite superbly.

But it's not all silhouettes and wordlists. Cerasus has made a significant move to expand the typically austere nature of this style of gameplay by including a variety of different modes.

Locating objects through their sounds, or searching by torchlight in a darkened room are examples of the methods Cerasus uses to expand the potential of the hidden object game, and it promises to provide a considerably extended playing experience than most similar games.

Although there's no UK publisher as yet, it's worth noting that the game will be in English from day one.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
