J-Pop duo get game

Cult Japanese band Puffy AmiYumi prepare to rock out on GBA

J-Pop duo get game

How up are you on Japanese music and US animation? You know all about Puffy AmiYumi? Err, but of course.

The J-Pop two-piece – cutesy pink-haired Ami, and punk-rock spiker Yumi – have sold millions of records in Japan, and their animated series has been on the Cartoon Network for two series as well. So the stage is set for their first video game.

Called Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: Kaznapped!, the GBA game follows their mission to recover their money-grabbing manager Kaz, who’s been kidnapped – hence the ‘Kaznapping’. But it’s not only Kaz the girls are after. Their No.1 (obsessive) fan Harmony has also stolen their instruments.

So, the situation is clear. Rescue Kaz, get back instruments, travel around the world in a whirlwind rock 'n' roll tour, fight off the bad guys, avoid the fanatical fans, unlock new costumes and find hidden items.

Sorted.

Still soundchecking before the doors open, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: Kaznapped! is due for release in March.
