A strap line like that sounds as though we're being a bit sarcastic, but in fact it had never really occurred to me that a game like Bejeweled, for instance, could be difficult for a colour blind gamer to play. So it's not at all unreasonable for developer Wooji Juice to make mention of its new iPhone puzzle game, Hexterity, as being 'colour blind friendly'.

The game is built on the Bejeweled / Tetris foundations, but has its own undeniably unique style of gameplay mechanics. To eliminate the glowing gems, you must rotate the squares to make the angled lines inside them form a continuous path around the game board. Once the two ends meet up, all those squares in the chain are eliminated, and new ones fall in from the top to replenish the board.

Along with the worldwide online score board, the developer will be adding a new screenshot to the game's App Store page showing the current high scorers, so if you want your name on Apple's pages, grab the game and get those lines aligned. Here's a gameplay vid to whet your appetite:

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
