Hell's Kitchen served up on mobile and DS

Publisher Ludia today announced it has struck a deal with Granada to produce a game based on the popular, and swear word-filled Gordon Ramsay edition of reality TV series Hell's Kitchen, in which poor aspiring chefs attempt to work in his kitchen, avoid his wrath and survive a public vote every week.

Hell's Kitchen the game has so far been confirmed to us as being in development on DS and mobile platforms (as well as home consoles). The game promises to prominently feature Ramsay, blazing around the kitchen while tasting and commenting on your culinary creations. We didn't think anyone could be more terrifying than flame-eyed head chef in DS game Cooking Mama, but we're prepared to now be proven wrong.

The game also includes a recipe book containing several of Gordon Ramsay's favourite food concoctions (perhaps 'roasted Trinny & Susannah' will be in there).

It's early days yet – Ludia is going for a worldwide summer 2008 release date to coincide with the fourth season of Hell's Kitchen in the US – so gameplay details are scarce. But we're already looking forward to it a lot more than we were Ubisoft's comparatively sedate kitchen sim, Happy Cooking.

Hopefully, the terrifying Ramsay won't be toned down too much in virtual form. We can only imagine what he'd say if that were the case.
