Mr Potato Head in charge for Hasbro Family Game Night Volume 2

DS version to get best of Volume 1 games too

Mr Potato Head in charge for Hasbro Family Game Night Volume 2

Can you image Mr Potato Head as the MC of Fun? MC of Mash maybe but apparently that's where family entertainment is these days.

Indeed, EA tells us that in Hasbro Family Game Night Volume 2, we will feel as if we've been transported into a live television game show studio complete with an audience, a spinning Challenge Wheel and the opportunity to win big virtual prizes.

Virtual whoot!

But then - like the crashing realisation of Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy - we discover that only in the Wii version of the game will we be allowed to completely customise Mr Potato Head, pick new themes, and obtain new trophies to add to our trophy collection.

Virtual doofus!

For those us looking after the accompanying DS version, we'll have to make do with versions of Operation, Jenga, Bop-It, Pictureka and Connect 4x4, plus a selection from the first Hasbro Family Game Night game, including Battleship and Sorry! Sliders.

All will be available in original mode i.e. playable as a traditional board game, plus advanced modes, which includes the all-new Hasbro Family Game Show, shifting us into party mode where we'll feel as if we've been transported into a live television game show studio complete with an audience and with Mr Potato Head as the master of ceremonies...

Hold up. Massive deja vu alert.

Hasbro Family Game Night Volume 2 will be out for DS and Wii later in 2009, with EA's Guildford-based Bright Light studio in charge of development duties.
